HOORAY! The Law Commission of Canada is being re-established. Its purpose is to provide independent, unbiased, and non-partisan advice on complex legal issues of national interest.
It was scrapped by the Harper Conservative government in 2006. The reformed commission will focus on: “the complex challenges of the day such as systemic racism in the justice system, legal issues around climate change, establishing a new relationship with Indigenous peoples, and rapid technological shifts in the world.”

PSYCHEDELICS ARE THE NEW CANNABIS – With big money and big business developing them for big pharma, can legalization be far behind?
IS PROSTITUTION LEGAL? – Once again one of Harper’s unconstitutional laws are recognized for what they are.
COURT WORKERS – “Pop up at the courthouses.”
The criminal justice system is still paper-based. Therefore the government requires many court workers to attend court in person and be subjected to a health risk. Their vaccination has to be prioritized.

WHEN POLICE DON’T OBEY THE LAW
“There is something particularly concerning about a police policy of deliberate non-compliance with mandated requirements due to the unilateral prioritization of their preferred investigative methods over following the law,” Masuhara wrote.
